The Annual Gala Dinner of the Turkish American Chamber of Commerce & Industry was held at the Rainbow Room at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City on June 20, 2007. This year, we celebrated the exclusive membership of Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges in Turkey (TOBB) and TACCI's growing strength within the Turkish-American business community. The event was sold out and was our most successful fundraising event to date.
Trade Fairs
Organized by Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters Association (ITKIB), Texbrige: Turkish Fashion Fabric Exhibition provided TACCI members and staff an opportunity to meet with Turkish textile exporters and explore the latest trends in the fabric industry. The exhibition was at the Grand Hyatt Empire Ballroom (42nd Street at Grand Central).
Organized by Turkish Leather Council and Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters Association (ITKIB), Turkish Shoe Exhibition was held at the Grand Hyatt Empire Ballroom (42nd Street at Grand Central) and enabled TACCI members to meet with trend-setters in the shoe-making industry.
Conferences/Workshops/Seminars
Mrs. Serpil Oğuz, the Commercial Attaché in New York, talked about the incentives for Turkish companies who do business or invest in the markets outside of Turkey.
TACCI organizes a workshop on the marble and natural stone market in the United States and the investment opportunities in the sector. The workshop was presented by Mr. Kürşad Devecioğlu of Marvelous Marketing at the TACCI Conference Room
Mr. Bora Özkan of Alexander & Hamilton informed entrepreneurs about opportunities in investing in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The workshop was organized with the assistance of World Trade Center-New Orleans and took place in the TACCI Conference Room. Mr. Özkan gave detailed information about the incentives in the region that is being proposed by Federal Government. The advantages of investing in New Orleans and the availability of federal, state and city incentives as well as various opportunities after hurricanes Katrina and Rita was presented in detail during this TACCI workshop

TACCI members met at Ali Baba Turkish Cuisine to celebrate the Kurban Bayramı.
TACCI hosted an exclusive dinner at Harvard Club's Presidents Room featuring Mr. Ege Cansen, one of the top columnists and commentators on economy in the Turkish media. Mr. Cansen addressed a distinguished group of Turkish-American businessmen on the title of "Financial Crisis and Reality in Turkey."
The Republic Day was celebrated by TACCI members and the Turkish-American Community at the New York Public Library Main Hall. The speeches of The Consul General Mehmet Samsar and the Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz were followed by a reception.
Over 50 participants came together for iftar at Dervis Restaurant at Midtown Manhattan.
TACCI hosted a dinner to honor Hon. Mehmet Samsar, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey at Bice Restaurant in Manhattan.
TACCI members had breakfast and met with the TOBB delegation at Marriot Hotel in Manhattan. Attended by TOBB president Mr. Rıfat Hisarcıklıoğlu and his delegation, this gathering took the cooperation between TACCI and TOBB to a higher level and renewed the commitments of these two organizations of working together.
This exclusive event held at the HSBC Tower in Manhattan was widely publicized by the press and the keynote speakers' comments were in the headlines of economics sections of the Turkish-American media.
TACCI hosted an exclusive dinner event featuring the European Court of Human Rights Judge, Dr. Rıza Türmen as guest speaker. Dr. Türmen addressed a distinguished crowd of Turkish American businessmen on the topic of "Democracy, Terrorism and Human Rights" at the Harvard Club.
